Flight Arrivals at Nice Airport

France's third busiest airport is located at the glamorous Côte d'Azur, a coastline famous for its expensive resorts, international film stars and beautiful scenery. Arrivals at Nice Airport will find excellent modern facilities at the two passenger terminal buildings.

The IATA code for Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is NCE and the airport is in close proximity to Nice’s city centre, which lies approximately 7 kilometres to the west of the airport. The city of Nice is beautifully situated on the south east coast on the Mediterranean Sea.

Believed to be one of the oldest human settlements in Europe, Nice is today a city that very much lives off tourism. Some of the world’s most famous painters came here for the clear light, sunny skies and warm climate. Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall and artist Nikki de Saint Phalle all came here to work and the Musée Matisse is one of the most visited in the city.

The two terminals at Nice Airport handled in excess of 9.6 million passengers in 2010 and in 2011 the numbers had risen to 10.4 million in 2011. The airport's total capacity is just 13 million passengers per annum, so passenger numbers are not far off having reached the airport’s limit.

Courtesy shuttle buses take Nice Airport arrivals to the terminal or parking lot they require. In total, there are 8 parking lots with short and long-term parking facilities, which arrivals at Nice Airport can reach with the free shuttle services.

Nice Airport arrivals who have arranged for car hire prior to their arrival should head to the Car Rental Center on the Arrivals level. The Car Rental Center is open until 10.00 pm every day. At Terminal 1 passengers will find the car rental desks by Gates A1 and A2, to the right of the Information Desk. Passengers who arrive at Terminal 2 will find the rental desks are between Gates A2 and A3.

A free shuttle bus runs from Terminal 1 (at stop 1) to Terminal 2, where passengers should hop off at stop 8 to cross over to the car parking lot P5, where they’ll be able to access the Car Rental Center. At this station hire vehicles can be picked up and later returned when the rental contract has come to an end. The car rental desks for suppliers Avis, Europcar, National and Sixt are open daily until 10.00 pm.

Nice Airport arrivals can buy bus and train tickets at Terminal 1, where they'll find the office of buses. The three main train stations in Nice offer more than 73 destinations for onward travel in France and beyond her borders. The three major train stations are called Nice Riquier, Nice Ville and Nice Saint-Augustin.

The free shuttle buses that connect the terminals and the parking lots run between 06.00 am and 11.00 pm every day at 6.5 minute intervals. Between the hours of 04.30am to 06.00 am the shuttle buses run at 10 minute intervals.

Arrivals at Nice Airport looking for onward travel by bus should head for the bus stop outside Terminal 1. Buses can be boarded from the platforms outside the arrivals level at Gate A0. The bus ticket office is open from 08.00 am tot 11.00 pm daily. Service 98 from Platform 1 leaves for Nice Place Blanqui and Train Station Riquier via the City Center, while Line 99 goes directly to the main train station.

There are numerous bus and express coach connections to Nice's city center and other major cities along the coast. A taxi rank can also be found just outside the terminal buildings.
